Perforated Release Film

Airtech’s Dahlar® release film is a thin, non-porous material specially designed to prevent bonding with resin. Often used as the first barrier between the composite laminate and the rest of the vacuum bagging materials, the Non-Porous Release Film is designed to easily control the resin content of the laminate. With improved elongation and tear resistance, the Non-Porous Release Film can be used in conventional vacuum bagging, resin infusion and prepreg part manufacturing.

Designed with evenly spaced pin holes, the Perforated Release Film allows controlled removal of excess resin when vacuum bagging. When applied on top of a wet laminate and covered with Breather Cloth, excess resin is drawn through the pin holes and blotted up by the Breather Cloth. Perforated Release Film is suitable in vacuum bagging applications up to 285°F (141°C) and is recommend for use in lieu of peel ply if a bondable surface is not required due to its ability to more easily release from a cured laminate.
