.125" x 48" x 48" Carbon Fiber PW3/Honeycomb Panel
ACP’s Carbon Fiber Plain Weave 3 Ply/Honeycomb Sandwich Panels are manufactured by bonding a single layer of 3K plain weave carbon fiber prepreg to each side of a .125” thick, 3/16” cell, 2 PCF aramid honeycomb core. They are cured with high temperature and under pressure, resulting in fully consolidated carbon fiber skins that are completely bonded to the aramid honeycomb core. The resulting constructed panel offers a high strength-to-weight ratio and rigidity-to-weight ratio. They are ideal for applications requiring flat, lightweight and rigid specifications.
Separating the carbon fiber skins with an aramid honeycomb core delivers greater strength properties than those of the skins alone. The carbon fiber skins offer high strength-to-weight ratio, thermal and electrical conductivity, high tensile strength, low density, low weight, low thermal expansion and excellent fatigue resistance. By using a self-adhesive carbon fiber prepreg, the cells of the honeycomb core will not fill with resin, thereby insuring the constructed panel will not retain excess resin weight.
The lightweight, high strength aramid honeycomb delivers higher compressive strength and lower densities when compared to our balsa and foam cores. The aramid honeycomb core is manufactured with high bondable properties to ensure that the structural integrity of the panel remains intact. To increase the stiffness of the constructed panel, a thicker core can be used without substantially increasing the weight and cost of the final product.

- If delamination occurs skins may be re-bonded using any structural adhesive, such as slow set cyanoacrylate (CA) glue or 5 minute epoxy adhesive.
- Sandwich panels can be cut with a cut off wheel or a Tungsten Carbide Saber Saw. Do not cut with a band saw.

Due to size restrictions, 48" x 48" sizes require custom packaging and may have to ship via freight services. A $30.00 handling fee will apply and will automatically be added to the order. Final shipping charges will not be available at the time of ordering. A quote can be requested or shipping charges can be automatically billed at the time of shipment.
